Linda Coral Slater is a licensed
Kindermusik Teacher and has devoted the majority of her life to music.
A lifelong love of and active participation in many realms of ethnic
music and dance has led her to teaching Kindermusik to children ages
birth to 7 years as well as privately teaching beginning piano and banjo
and performing with whatever band she might be with on banjo, acoustic
bass, and vocal harmonies. As a member of Puget Sound Kindermusik Teachers
Association (PSKTA), Kindermusik Educators Association (KEA), and National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Linda attends
seminars, workshops and conventions to keep current with teaching methods,
ideas and technology. Linda feels particularily honored to be involved
in enriching the lives of her young friends and their families and enjoys
watching students grow musically and in their overall development. One
of her favorite events in a day is to run into one of her students and
their families at the local grocery store and have a bit of peek-a-boo!
Her goal is to help others explore their musical environment with the
essence of sheer "fun". Linda lives on her "Chockablock
Farm" on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with her family, horses,
miniature goats, cats, Australian Shepherds, chickens, and musical instruments
galore. In addition to playing music, she enjoys raising her three children,
playing music in bands, gardening, tending to her animals, taking Dressage
riding lessons, kyaking, having big family dinners, and exploring many
other hobbies.
